September 3rd, 2008 edition of The Daily Sauce: Food and Wine. Visit Our Food and Wine Archive. Barbecue Throwdown We love a good throwdown, a la Bobby Flay, especially if it involves barbecue. Which is exactly what will take place this Saturday at the Ferguson Farmers’ Market, when chefs Tony Hedger and TimBo Williams go grill to grill. Hedger, pit master and instructor at L’école Culinaire, and Williams, chef at Thyme Table, will compete against each other while demonstrating their ’cue skills and techniques to onlookers. Not only will local celebrities judge the best barbecue, you can judge for yourself by sampling the free food. Sauce pick: Barbecue Throwdown Price: Free Where to get it: Sat., Sept. 6. – 9 a.m. demonstration, 10 a.m. judging, Ferguson Farmers’ Market, 20 S.
