Get Up Baby ... to Mike Shannon’s

Been to Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood lately? Maybe you’re heading there this week for Downtown Restaurant Week. Maybe you’re a regular. Maybe you already know that the former Cards star-turned-announcer’s restaurant is no mere bush-league sports bar. And that Shannon’s is not only known for the color commentator’s after-game broadcasts, but also for its superb selection of hand-cut, dry-aged Midwestern beef, fresh seafood and award-winning wine list.

What you may not know is that although many restaurants offer dry-aged steaks, Shannon’s is the only restaurant to our knowledge serving a full dry-aged selection, including a bone-in strip. Or that chef Nick Zotos offers a monthly steak special, including a 72-hour Cajun marinated ribsteak. (Zotos’ Filet Oscar special proved so popular that it’s now a daily special.) The drink menu has also changed; it now includes build-your-own Mojitos and the ’64-Tini, named after the Cardinals 1964 World Series win. Now that’s a winner.

Sauce pick: New roster at Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood
Price: Dry-aged steaks range from $31 to $42
Where to get it: 620 Market St., St. Louis
