Cookbooks: Too Many? Not Enough?

How many copies of The Joy of Cooking can one person have? Maybe it’s time to unload all those copies given to you since you moved away to college. Now’s your chance: Starting tomorrow, Kitchen Conservatory is hosting its annual Cookbook Fair in conjunction with its August sale. Simply bring in your old cookbooks; for each cookbook, you get a coupon for an extra 5 percent discount on sale items. That’s a pretty good deal, especially considering how many cookbooks foodies accumulate. But the best part is that the store sells all those used cookbooks for just a buck each! Best best start culling your shelves now, because the sale only runs from through Aug. 9. With luck, maybe you can snag the original 1943 edition of Irma Rombauer’s classic.
